Saskatchewan is Canada's leading producer of wheat. Over 54 percent of Canada's wheat comes from Saskatchewan. One third of the province is cultivated land. The province is also a major producer of cattle and hogs. Saskatchewan ranks second as a producer of beef cattle. (Alberta ranks first). Most of the ranches are in southwestern part of the province.
